How Coaching Can Help You Grow Your Blog
Hello! I'm Charlotte, and I'm the founder of Blog and Beyond. I'm a slightly sarcastic 23-year-old grandma from Glasgow who loves The Sims, Hugh Laurie and programmes about airports. I've been blogging at Colours and Carousels for over eight years and am passionate about helping other bloggers grow.

Coaching is all the rage these days, and I am a huge fan. I used to think that it was a waste of money, but then I tried it for myself and after working with Jasmin on my business I saw the light. Coaching, be it career, blog or life, has so many benefits. I honestly think that hiring a coach changed my life, to the point that I’m still working with Jasmin nearly a year later and I’ve even started offering my own coaching for bloggers after her encouragement. Here are just some of the ways hiring a coach can help you grow your blog…
Sometimes, I think we can all be a bit too stuck “in the moment” and just focus on what’s happening short term. I know that I used to make last minute decisions that would leave me flustered and flapping, but since working with a coach I’ve been able to adapt my way of thinking and start to plan things more strategically
This strategic thinking helped me break my big goals down into little steps so that I can make progress towards achieving them each week, instead of making spur of the moment decisions and stressing myself out with a huge to-do list at the very last minute.
Guidance and Accountability
One of the best things I’ve found about working with a coach is that I have someone to help me figure out the steps I need to make my big picture goals more realistic, and sharing my ideas with someone else helps to keep me accountable
I have a pretty bad habit of throwing more stuff on my plate at any given opportunity because my brain seems convinced that I don’t already have enough work to deal with. This unnecessary pressure often leads me to burnout, which is just no fun, but Jasmin keeps me realistic about ideas, projects and timescales.
It can be scary to open your blog up to scrutiny, but having the perspective of a coach has been the perfect way to take a step back from my blog and look at the bigger picture. Over the past eight years I’ve learned a lot about blogging, so whilst I know what I’m doing when it comes to running the show I wasn’t great at looking at the bigger picture.
With my blog being such a personal thing I was far too close to it to see it from an outsider’s point of view, and working with Jasmine helped me see the things I hadn’t previously considered. This is something that my own coaching clients bring up a lot, and I love helping people come to realisations about their online presence.
Blogging can be pretty lonely sometimes. Between my blog and my business, I work alone a lot, which means I miss out on the opportunity to have someone to bounce ideas off of. That’s where having a coach comes in handy, as I have Jasmin on hand to chat potential ideas with. Having her fresh unbiased perspective often brings things to light that I never would have thought about before, giving me new ways to grow my blog and my business.
Goals & Focus
GOALS ARE THE BEST. Goals help focus the mind and give you a clear direction to follow for the future. Working with a coach like me or Jasmin can help you figure out a clear strategy for meeting your goals in the long term. We also have a whole free mini-course dedicated to setting better goals, if you want to learn more about how they can help you move forward with your blog.
